There are a wide variety of materials available and it is important to understand the options available to you.
Cupboard Doors
- Melamine: a laminate material used on shelving and surfaces to cover substrate of chipboard/ plywood. Durable and easy to clean
- Supawood/ MDF: a material made from fine wood particles and glue, which is formed and pressed into sheets
- Veneer: refers to thin slices of quality timber that are glued onto core panels
- Solid Timber: timber of different thicknesses can be used for doors/ countertops
- PVC Wrap: a thermoplastic material composed of polymers of vinyl chloride
Kitchen Counter Tops
- Formica: a heat-resistant, wipe-clean plastic laminate
- Granite: a common igneous rock with a medium to coarse grained texture
